Question is can you use it while the car is not in park?
If so I could see a rasberry pi with a track pad and some custom UI making the perfect carputer without having to mess with any of the existing functionality.

unfortunately not. The car HAS to be in park for it to work.

Does Ford have a bunch of nanny crap to keep you from using while driving?
Edit: Never mind just saw comment below about being in park.

Ground the wire permanently that’s stuck to the parking switch, ALL the time PS2'ing!

Actually from what I have read it has nothing to do with the park switch. It has to go thru the can-bus and if the speed sensor senses that the vehicle is in motion it will disable the screen. Apparently there is no way to disable it. Not easily at least.
